Living in the Shadow of Beethoven

Welcome to the 28th Season of Musical Offerings concerts! The opening concert, Sunday, January 15 at 3:00 PM, is an exciting event in the citywide Beethoven Festival sponsored by the San Antonio Symphony.

In some sources the time and place of the concert were listed incorrectly. The starting time of the concert is 3:00 pm (not 2:00 pm) and the location is Christ Episcopal Church.

By including music of composers like Schubert, Hummel and Brahms, Musical Offerings offers you a refreshing insight into the music of Beethoven and its relationship to his contemporaries of the 18th and 19th century.

Piano Trio No. 5 in D major “Ghost” and musical gems of Beethoven’s contemporaries Hummel, Schubert, Dussek, Mendelssohn and Brahms.
